[vc_row full_width=”stretch_row”][vc_column]
Ropecon is the largest non-commercial role-playing convention in Europe organised entirely by volunteers. The three day convention offers a variety of programme suitable for attendees of all ages ranging from tabletop and live-action role-playing games to card games, board games and miniature wargames. In addition to tournaments and other game programme Ropecon also features presentations, panel discussions and workshops on a wide variety of topics related to role-playing games. Two major awards, The Golden Dragon and The Deed of the Year, are presented annually at Ropecon for achievements and contributions to the role-playing game culture in Finland.

Even more important than the diverse programme is the ambiance. Each year Ropecon brings together both role-playing game enthusiasts as well as professionals in the field of gaming. Many attendees come to Ropecon specifically to meet up with old friends and get to know other role-playing game enthusiasts. As many of the more experienced attendees already know, Ropecon is a great place to find new people to play with.

Ropecon is organised entirely by volunteers. Around 800 volunteers participate in the making of Ropecon each year. The convention weekend packed with diverse programme about role-playing games is all planned and carried out by the gamers, for the gamers. The organisation behind the convention is Ropecon ry, a non-profit which aims to promote and develop the role-playing game, card game, miniature wargame and board game hobbies in Finland.

The theme of Ropecon 2020 is The End of the World. The theme will be represented in the diverse programme of the convention as a variety of interesting topics.

For more information on Ropecon » [/vc_column_text]

  [/vc_column][/vc_row]

[vc_row full_width=”stretch_row”][vc_column]
Ropecon’s core values are as follows:

The list is not in any particular order.

In this context, equality refers to, among other things, the work culture among the conittee of Ropecon, the work culture among Ropecon ry board of members, the services aimed at attendees of Ropecon, the work culture among volunteers of Ropecon, as well as to preventing and combating harassment.

In this context, co-operation refers to the nature of Ropecon and Ropecon ry as a non-commercial, volunteer-based operation which is executed by the gamers, for the gamers.

In this context, inspiration refers to, for example, inspiring both volunteers as well as attendees to participate in different kinds of programme and in the making of Ropecon.

In this context, diversity of the hobby refers to the aim of promoting and supporting both traditional role-playing games as well as live-action role-playing games, board games, miniature wargames and other forms of mostly non-digital games.

[/vc_column_text]

  [/vc_column][/vc_row]

[vc_row el_class=”bg–secondary”][vc_column][vc_column_text]

[/vc_column_text][vc_row_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/3″]

The first Ropecon is held at Paasitorni, Helsinki

    Hours of programme

[/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/3″]

    Volunteers

different programme items to choose from

[/vc_column_inner][vc_column_inner width=”1/3″]

    Attendees

    Shared passion

[/vc_column_inner][/vc_row_inner][/vc_column][/vc_row]

[vc_row parallax=”content-moving” parallax_image=”1926″ css=”.vc_custom_1485801485086{padding-top: 250px !important;padding-bottom: 220px !important;}”][vc_column][vc_column_text css_animation=”fadeInUp”] This is Ropecon.
